Welcome to SALB Industry
With These Hands...
Through the San Antonio Lighthouse, blind individuals are given the opportunity to lead independent lives and produce quality products. These individuals work in a variety of capacities within SALB's industry including the following areas.
- Products - The majority of products are produced under contract with the Federal Government through the provisions of the Javits-Wagner O'Day Act now know as the AbilityOne Program. The product mix includes: Mechanical Pencils, Rollerball Pens, Highlighters, Clam Clip, System Fastening Products, Military Helmet-Retention Assemblies, Aerospace Insulation Blankets, U.S. Postal Straps, Navy Fleece Parka Liners, Spill Kits and Absorbent Products, Aviation Oil Analysis Kits and other textile apparel items.
- Contract Management Support - Contract Management Support (CMS) services are specifically designed to provide contract closeout support services to federal government contracting offices. CMS services will help mitigate the critical government shortage of contract specialists by focusing on providing post-contract award administration support services that are not inherently governmental functions.
- Manufacturing - Through its production facility, the San Antonio Lighthouse offers employment to individuals that are blind or legally blind through assembling, machine operator, warehousing, quality assurance, maintenance, engineering, management and sewing machine operator.
