BSC Cashier - Cannon
The San Antonio Lighthouse is seeking a cashier who serves as the team member for all functions of point of sales transactions. Must work closely with all store personnel to provide quality customer service and communicate with customers as required. This position is on a Military installation.
•Greet and assist customers when they enter the store; first line of customer contact
•Operate the Counterpoint point of sales system
•Receive and process payment from customer – credit card and customer account sales
•Process customer orders, backorders, drop shipments
•Assist customers with unique and hard to find items
•Sweep and clean the sales counter and surrounding area as needed
•Assist in stocking as needed
•Assume additional responsibilities, perform additional duties, and complete special projects as assigned
•Work with store management to create a safe, clean, healthy work environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Must be legally blind
•High School diploma or equivalent
•Basic math skills
•Ability to stock shelves
•Ability to read credit card numbers (if needed with the aid of a magnifier)
•Must be able to lift 20 lbs

Product Engineer
PRODUCT MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
The Product Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for launch, process improvement, documentation, cost reduction and implementation of lean principles and techniques of new and existing products.

BSC Stocker Altus
JOB SUMMARY:
The stocker is the team member responsible for all stocking activities in the store. Must work closely with all store personnel to provide quality customer service and communicate with customers as required. This position is on a US military installation.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Stock shelves – Cases on shelves must be kept neat and labeled. Stacks should not be too high for customers to reach
Stock Rotation – all products must be rotated as needed. Be aware of dates and changing of labels
Shopping carts – Always be ready to get carts from the parking lot: when asked by the manager, clear the parking lot and arrange carts neatly in the cart corral.
Remove empty boxes as needed throughout the shift
Sales floor/warehouse – keep neat and orderly and sweep and mop sales floor as needed
Operate the cash register as required
Back stock must be kept neat and orderly and merchandise clearly identified
Work with store management to create a safe, clean healthy work environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or the equivalent preferred.
Possess a valid driver’s license. (if delivering)
Ability to perform warehousing functions.
Ability to operate forklift, palletjacks, and dollies.
Knowledge of basic math.

HR Generalist
Job Summary: Responsible for Recruitment, Safety and Training for all the Lighthouse employees.
Recruitment:
• Create and maintain recruitment plan for all hiring activities.
• Plan and conduct job fairs.
• Create and maintain waiting lists and assessment logs.
• Advertise for open positions through various sources.
• Establish and develop new resources for employment; maintain recruitment database of contacts.
• Maintain applicant tracking database.
• Work with hiring officials to screen resumes and schedule interviews.
• Meet with temporary agencies to fill positions in plant, staff and base service centers as needed; maintain contact lists. Negotiate with agencies to obtain best rates. Maintain weekly update of temporary employees.
• Assist, one on one, visually impaired applicants in employment application process.
• Conduct background checks and drug tests for potential applicants.
• Conduct all new hire orientations.
Safety:
• Hold quarterly safety meetings.
• Arrange quarterly fire drills and maintain log.
• Schedule and conduct, if necessary, yearly required safety training for all employees and new hires i.e. PPE, Blood Borne Pathogens, Hazcom etc.
• Monitor elevator inspections and safety supplies.
• Administer safety incentive program.
Training:
• Plan and organize all “Lunch and Learn” brown bag events.
• Schedule and conduct, if necessary, required training. Coordinate training classes as needed such as, computer courses, Blindness Sensitivity and CPR/First Aid.
• Enter all training records into HR personnel system.
• Administer on-line training program.
Qualifications:
• BA in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred. Will consider equivalent work experience.
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
• At least three years in Training, Human Resources, and/or Recruitment.

Benefits Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY:
Administer Lighthouse benefit plan to include medical, dental, vision, long term disability, life insurance and long term care. Manage workers’ compensation program. Monitor and oversee FMLA and LOA usage.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Benefits Plan:
Assist employees with questions, problems and concerns regarding benefits and insurance plans.
Notify and work closely with insurance broker for qualifying events; i.e. changes, additions, deletions, billing etc.
Schedule meetings, one on one, with new employees prior to the insurance eligibility date to review the insurance plan and complete enrollment paperwork.
Distribute insurance packages and insurance cards as needed.
Input all enrollment information into HR personnel system.
Process SBS deductible reimbursement claims.
Notify broker regarding COBRA benefits for terminated employees and issue portability forms for life insurance benefits.
Process long-term disability and long-term care requests and maintain log.
Process death claims; visit with beneficiaries to explain benefits; contact funeral home and provide portability paperwork.
Prepare and code all benefit related invoices. Review monthly billing statements for accuracy.
Primary point of contact to coordinate open season enrollment.
Maintain medical file for each employee.
Workers’ Compensation:
One of the first responders to a workplace accident. Assess the situation, determine and coordinate proper course of action and arrange medical treatment if necessary.
Transport injured employee, if necessary, to medical treatment facility.
Obtain accident/incident report from supervisor.
Conduct accident investigation with recommendations to prevent future accidents.
Assist with the company safety program as needed.
Brief the safety committee on recent workplace accidents.
File the first report of injury to workers’ compensation carrier.
Work closely with insurance carrier, treating medical provider and claims adjuster as necessary; ensure cases are closed appropriately.
Follow up and stay in regular contact with injured employees.
Coordinate with the employee’s supervisor to review work restrictions and available light duty accommodations.
Maintain OSHA 300 log and OSHA 301 Injury and Illness Incident Report Forms. Prepare end of year OSHA 300A summary.
Generate Run Loss Reports.
Maintain workers’ compensation file for each injured employee.
FMLA and LOA:
Issue initial FMLA and/or LOA paperwork to employees that request them, ensuring that the employee meets eligibility requirements.
Follow-up with the employee to ensure the FMLA and/or LOA paperwork is received back in the proper timeframe to ensure job protection.
Work directly with the employee’s supervisor to ensure time away from work is coded properly in timeforce.
Issue letters to employees indicating that they have been granted either FMLA or LOA, the amount of hours remaining and when the employee is required to return to work.
Immediately follow-up with employees that do not return to work as expected from FMLA or LOA and notify the supervisor and HR Manager.
Prepare bi-weekly reports for the supervisor with the amount of FMLA hours remaining for each affected employee.
Maintain a FMLA and/or LOA file for each affected employee.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Must be bi-lingual (English/Spanish).
At least two years of experience in Administration or Human Resources.
Direct experience with and knowledge of insurance plans, workers’ compensation and FMLA regulations.
Excellent written and verbal communication and knowledge of proper grammar and punctuation.
