Cashier
The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind is seeking legally blind cashiers for our Base Service Centers which are located on various military installations. This person will perform customer service functions including greeting customers, assisting in product selection, point of sale transactions as well as receipt and processing of payment. Other duties will include stocking shelves with incoming inventory and light cleaning duties such as maintaining clean counters and racks. Must have the ability to lift 25 - 50 lbs. and also able to stand for long periods of time. Good math skills, keyboarding skills and computer knowledge required.
MUST be legally blind.
Possible hiring bonus after completing 90 day orientation period.

Sewing Machine Operator
The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind has been awarded contracts with the Federal Government under the AbilityOne Program. The AbilityOne Program helps thousands of people who are blind or have other severe disabilities find employment. The program coordinates its activities with nonprofit organizations across the country to employ these individuals and provide goods and services to the Federal Government at a fair price.
The San Antonio Lighthouse must maintain a 75% ratio of blind employees to sighted employees for government projects. Therefore, the Lighthouse is seeking to fill these positions with legally blind personnel.

Production Supervisor
The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind is seeking a Manufacturing Production Supervisor.
Job Functions and Responsibilities:
• Implementing line layouts, monitoring production flows, aligning production personnel to maximize production efficiency, focused on reducing waste.
• Responsible for the results of the department and spearheading continuous improvement.
• Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods.
• Coordinate work orders, pick lists, production schedules, and reports to determine production requirements and assign appropriate resources to meet production requirements.
• Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
• Works with Quality Assurance and Maintenance to ensure material compliance and standardize machine expectations.
• Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
• Enforce safety and OSHA regulations, company policies and ISO procedures and work instructions.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 4 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• 2 years of supervisory experience, enforcement of policies, employee counseling, etc.
• Knowledge of running a production line.
• Understanding of material flow streamlining processes.
• Problem solving techniques.
• Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills
• General knowledge of computers/software, Microsoft office
Bi-lingual preferred. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Techniques a definite plus. First shift - Monday through Friday.

Manufacturing Engineering Manager
The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind is looking for a proven Manufacturing Engineering Manager with a minimum of 3-5 years leadership experience preferably with light assembly and sewing operations. Candidate should possess experience in manufacturing, process and industrial engineering. This position will work closely with the introduction of new products from feasibility to launch. Project Management skills required to lead multiple initiatives including cost savings, line layout and balancing, corrective action and the support of a safe and ergonomically friendly work environment. Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering required.

Stocker-Cannon

The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind is seeking a stocker for the Base Service Center on Cannon AFB. The stocker is the team member responsible for all stocking activities in the store. Must work closely with all store personnel to provide quality customer service and communicate with customers as required.
Employee will be responsible for stocking shelves, rotating stock, retrieving shopping carts, clearing the parking lot and arranging carts neatly in the cart corral, removing empty boxes as needed throughout the shift, maintaining a neat and orderly sales floor/warehouse, sweeping and mopping the sales floor as needed, and operating the cash register as required.
Minimum qualifications for this position - High School diploma or equivalent, knowledge of basic math, ability to speak and write in English, six months of stocker related experience. May be required to routinely push, pull, lift or otherwise move items weighing up to 50lbs.

Furniture Sales Support Specialist
The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind is a seeking a Furniture Sales Support Specialist. This person will directly assist the Furniture Sales Manager by providing sales, design, and administrative support. Candidate will assist with furniture quotes, furniture drawing and design (as required), and follow-up, coordinate, and track all furniture orders from order entry to final completion of installation at customer site. In addition, this person will ensure that all furniture projects have installation quotes in file, all orders are entered into system correctly and in a timely fashion, and all orders entered into system match manufacturer’s acknowledgements. He or she will ensure the Installation Company selected has all necessary documents for installation all orders entered into system are released and billed in a timely fashion once completed, and ensure all vendor invoices are processed in a timely fashion in order to be paid.
Candidate must be able to efficiently multi-task, be organized and very detail oriented. Also, he or she must have a good phone personality, be very customer service oriented and very team oriented to work with all departments and stores to provide exceptional customer service to all clients.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Interior Design preferred.
• 3-5 years experience in administration and or design in the furniture industry.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Working knowledge of CAD, CAP, GIZA, or any other design software a plus.
• Working knowledge of the office furniture industry a major plus.

Receiver - Randolph
The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind is seeking a receiver for the Base Service Center on Randolph. The Receiver is the team member responsible for all goods that are received by or shipped from the store. Must work closely with all store personnel to provide quality customer service and communicate with customers as required.
Job Functions and Responsibilities:
•Receive FedEx, UPS, and freight line shipments from commercial vendors and U.S. Government supply depots.
•Ensure the accuracy of all receiving documents, including matching forms (PO, packing slip, computer printout) relative to receiving activities.
•Physically inspect the condition of all merchandise being received.
•Assure that receiving counts match purchase orders and packing slips documents and resolve any discrepancies.
•Complete all appropriate forms needed to report Government discrepancies.
•File all receiving paperwork in PO sequence.
•Identify backorders and place merchandise in designated area for expedited handling.
•Follow all Base Service Center procedures and processes.
•Identify store stock and warehouse back stock.
•Assist in unloading trucks.
•Operate forklift, pallet jacks, carts, dollies and delivery vehicle.
•Maintain all equipment in the receiving/warehouse area.
•Participate in regular inventory cycle counts and annual complete physical inventory.
•Keep a clean, orderly warehouse with merchandise clearly identified.
•Rotate stock, identify and record dated merchandise, and log all damaged product.
•Work with store management to create a safe, clean, healthy work environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent
•Knowledge of basic math
•Ability to speak and write English
•Must be able to lift, push, pull or move up to 50 lbs
•One year of warehousing experience
•Ability to operate forklift, pallet jacks, and dollies
•Valid Driver’s License

•Must be forklift certified
Must have a valid driver’s license
•Must be able to work in cold and hot conditions
