Cashier
The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind is seeking legally blind cashiers for our Base Service Centers which are located on various military installations. This person will perform customer service functions including greeting customers, assisting in product selection, point of sale transactions as well as receipt and processing of payment. Other duties will include stocking shelves with incoming inventory and light cleaning duties such as maintaining clean counters and racks. Must have the ability to lift 25 - 50 lbs. and also able to stand for long periods of time. Good math skills, keyboarding skills and computer knowledge required.
MUST be legally blind.
Possible hiring bonus after completing 90 day orientation period.

Sewing Machine Operator
The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind has been awarded contracts with the Federal Government under the AbilityOne Program. The AbilityOne Program helps thousands of people who are blind or have other severe disabilities find employment. The program coordinates its activities with nonprofit organizations across the country to employ these individuals and provide goods and services to the Federal Government at a fair price.
The San Antonio Lighthouse must maintain a 75% ratio of blind employees to sighted employees for government projects. Therefore, the Lighthouse is seeking to fill these positions with legally blind personnel.

Production Supervisor
The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind is seeking a Manufacturing Production Supervisor.
Job Functions and Responsibilities:
• Implementing line layouts, monitoring production flows, aligning production personnel to maximize production efficiency, focused on reducing waste.
• Responsible for the results of the department and spearheading continuous improvement.
• Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods.
• Coordinate work orders, pick lists, production schedules, and reports to determine production requirements and assign appropriate resources to meet production requirements.
• Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
• Works with Quality Assurance and Maintenance to ensure material compliance and standardize machine expectations.
• Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
• Enforce safety and OSHA regulations, company policies and ISO procedures and work instructions.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 4 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• 2 years of supervisory experience, enforcement of policies, employee counseling, etc.
• Knowledge of running a production line.
• Understanding of material flow streamlining processes.
• Problem solving techniques.
• Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills
• General knowledge of computers/software, Microsoft office
Bi-lingual preferred. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Techniques a definite plus. First shift - Monday through Friday.

Stocker-Tinker
Stocker – Tinker
The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind is seeking a stocker for the Base Service Center on Tinker AFB. The stocker is the team member responsible for all stocking activities in the store. Must work closely with all store personnel to provide quality customer service and communicate with customers as required.
Employee will be responsible for stocking shelves, rotating stock, retrieving shopping carts, clearing the parking lot and arranging carts neatly in the cart corral, removing empty boxes as needed throughout the shift, maintaining a neat and orderly sales floor/warehouse, sweeping and mopping the sales floor as needed, and operating the cash register as required.
Minimum qualifications for this position - High School diploma or equivalent, knowledge of basic math, ability to speak and write in English, six months of stocker related experience. May be required to routinely push, pull, lift or otherwise move items weighing up to 50lbs.

The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind is seeking a Customer Service Liaison for the Base Service Center located on Tinker Air Force Base. This person will be the primary point of contact for customer relations by ensuring customers are satisfied with the products or services received. This person will place orders and then track and follow-up with order shipment, trouble shoot and problem solve delayed or backordered products, build and maintain customer relationships by providing suburb customer service and promptly addressing customer concerns and complaints.
This person must have excellent communication and organizational skills, be self-motivated, detailed orientated, have the willingness to follow through and have strong commitment to teamwork.
Minimum qualifications for this position – High School diploma or equivalent, basic math skills, computer skills with MS Office to include Outlook, Word and Excel, ability to write and speak in English and one year of customer service related experience. Manufacturing Engineering Manager
The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind is looking for a proven Manufacturing Engineering Manager with a minimum of 3-5 years leadership experience preferably with light assembly and sewing operations. Candidate should possess experience in manufacturing, process and industrial engineering. This position will work closely with the introduction of new products from feasibility to launch. Project Management skills required to lead multiple initiatives including cost savings, line layout and balancing, corrective action and the support of a safe and ergonomically friendly work environment. Manager – Ft. Bliss
The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind is seeking a Manger for the Base Service Center located on Ft. Bliss. This person will facilitate the daily operation of the Base Service Center which provides expendable/non-expendable supplies, material and equipment to a variety of customers. Coordinates all general business and logistical matters which typically include accounting, budget preparation, personnel coordination, building maintenance, purchasing, data processing, marketing and supervise all personnel working in the Base Service Center.
This person must be able to work independently and make sound decisions without close supervision. Must have recent experience in retail sales of office supplies and have considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of retail store operations, management, supervision and logistical operations with the ability to establish priorities and meet operational deadlines. May be required to lift, push, pull or move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Minimum qualifications for this position –
•High School diploma or equivalent
•Three years of experience with retail store point of sale system, supervising and evaluating personnel, shipping/receiving, marketing, sales, shelf stocking, and customer service programs
•Ability to communicate efficiently both verbally and written
•Proficient in the use of office software to include Word, Excel and Outlook

Administrative Assistant
The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind is seeking an Administrative Assistant for our Seniors Program. This person must be highly skilled in, preparing statistical reports, creating spreadsheets, managing databases, purchasing supplies and maintaining inventory.
