Cashier
The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind is seeking legally blind cashiers for our Base Service Centers which are located on various military installations. This person will perform customer service functions including greeting customers, assisting in product selection, point of sale transactions as well as receipt and processing of payment. Other duties will include stocking shelves with incoming inventory and light cleaning duties such as maintaining clean counters and racks. Must have the ability to lift 25 - 50 lbs. and also able to stand for long periods of time. Good math skills, keyboarding skills and computer knowledge required.
MUST be legally blind.
Possible hiring bonus after completing 90 day orientation period.

Lead Warehouse Person
The San Antonio Lighthouse is looking for a Lead Warehouse Person to distribute, prepare, issue, ship, receive, and store raw materials and finished products.
JOB FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervise Warehouse personnel.
• Supervise receiving of all raw materials.
• Supervise all shipments.
• Maintain accurate inventory controls and inventory records.
• Ensure proper packaging and marking for all shipments.
• Plan storage space requirements for finished and raw materials.
• Coordinate with Production Planner and Contract Administrator to ensure shipments are received in a timely manner.
• Responsible for resolving problems concerning warehousing, shipping, receiving or issuing, and Warehouse personnel.
• Coordinate with Production Planner, Customer Service, Purchasing staff and Production Manager to avoid out-of-stock conditions.
• Cross-train all Warehouse personnel to perform all duties, receiving, shipping, issuing and returns from manufacturing.
• Coordinate with Quality Control regarding quality issues.
• Assist in semi-annual inventories.
• Assume additional responsibilities, perform additional duties and complete special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma; some college preferred
• 2 years Warehouse experience
• Minimum 2 years experience in supervisory position.
• Good computer skills: Spreadsheets, word processing, job specific software.
• Knowledge of MRP.
• Knowledge of basic math.
• Effective communications skills, oral and written.
• Ability to operate a forklift and other heavy machinery.
• Ability to lift 50-70 pounds, climb ladders, bend and stoop, reach up, safely.
• Able to stand for long periods.

Manager - Tinker AFB
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for operating the Base Service Center on Tinker AFB. Responsibilities include logistics, budget preparation and control, personnel management, scheduling activities, facility maintenance, sales and marketing.
JOB FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Address customer concerns and complaints.
• Establish and implement marketing program to improve and increase customer satisfaction.
• Make appropriate sales calls on existing customers and prospective customers.
• Coordinate all personnel actions with the Lighthouse administration.
• Provide orientation to new employees.
• Prepare work schedules and assignments for employees at the base store.
• Delegate tasks and direct employees.
• Track, inventory, and bar code using the point of sale system.
• Ensure adherence with Essentially-The Same (ETS) compliance policies
• Maintain control of inventory (in receipt, storage, and shelf stocking).
• Coordinate receipt, storage, and distribution of supplies, materials and equipment.
• Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Ensure quantities of goods received are correct.
• Supervise all physical inventory activities.
• Take monthly inventory and reconcile results with paper inventory. Investigate discrepancies and reports unreconciled items.
• Assist in selection of new employees.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including communicating and working with the disabled and military agencies.

Assistant Manager - Ft. Bliss
JOB SUMMARY:
Assist the Base Service Center Manager in the daily operation of a Base Service Center, which provides expendable/non-expendable supplies, material and equipment to a variety of customers; coordinates all general business and logistical matters, which typically include accounting, budget preparation and control, personnel coordination and work activities planning, building maintenance, purchasing, printing, data processing coordination, marketing and related activities; supervises all personnel working in the Base Service Center; performs related duties as required.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists the Base Supply Store Manager in the daily business operations of the store.
• Provides orientation to new employees.
• Utilizes point of sale system to track sale, inventory and bar coding, establish and implement marketing program to improve and increase customer satisfaction.
• Responsible for the coordination of the receipt, storage and/or distribution of supplies, materials and equipment sold through the Base Supply Store.
• Responsible for inventory control procedures that account for the receipt, storage and shelf stocking of all items sold through the Base Supply Store.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean work and customer service areas.
• Responsible for maintaining Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and will furnish them to customers upon request.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Base Service Center Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Three years of retail store related to point of sale system, shipping/receiving, marketing, sales, shelf stocking, and customer service programs.
• Recent experience in retail sales of office supplies.
• Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of retail store operations, management, supervision and logistical operations.
• Ability to coordinate and direct a variety of administrative activities.
• Ability to establish priorities and meet operational deadlines.

Production Planner
JOB SUMMARY
Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacturing of industrial or commercial products.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBIITIES
•Review plant capacity and mathematical calculations to determine tools, and human resource requirements using M.R.P. Reports
•Review production priorities. Prepare production schedule with start and completion dates for each project. Recommend any changes to production schedule.
•Develop weekly production plans for each department and operation according to previously established lead and sequence times. Present information to Production Manager for review.
•Prepare production reports.
•Establish Bill of Materials and Work Orders. Maintains master files.
