SALB Employees Updated On City Matters
San Antonio Assistant City Manager, Peter Zanoni, addressed current and upcoming city bond programs with the employees of the San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind. The SALB also served as a platform for employees to inquire about various city topics.
Second Place Glory for Ortiz
Holloman Base Service Center Cashier, Joe Ortiz, participated in the Sertoma/CHiNS Freedom 5K Run and Walk. Joe blazed through course in 35.05 minutes which brought him second place honors in the 40 to 49 age group. Joe has been an employee of the San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind for 8 years. Congratulations Joe!
USAA Volunteer Corp, Serving From the Heart
The USAA Volunteer Corp provided and served lunch for over 350 employees of the San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind. The volunteer group was comprised of enthusiastic USAA Employees that served an appetizing lunch of meatloaf, sides, and peach cobbler all while being accompanied by the lush voices of The Lighthouse for the Blind Choir. “We always look forward to coming to The Lighthouse,” said David, a volunteer. As David serves a hearty spoonful of mashed potatoes he adds, “We truly have a great time every time we come to visit.”
