Did you know that there are over 50,000 blind or visually impaired in San Antonio? The San Antonio Lighthouse celebrates its 75th year assisting individuals with vision loss to achieve individual independence.

As part of the tour, you will visit our manufacturing plant and learn more about the products that are produced right here by visually impaired and blind employees and about our Base Service Centers. Products such as pens, pencils, highlighters, helmet straps for the Marines and Army, the fleece lining for Navy jackets and so much more are made on our premises. You will also tour our Rehabilitation Center and learn more about the rehabilitation services we provide that create opportunities for independence.  Our Senior Center is the only center in South Texas for senior’s with vision impairment. The training at the Senior Center promotes self-sufficiency to the individuals served and provides education to family and caregivers.
