The School of Business is conducting seminars in lieu of their six-week program. The demand currently is for Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) approved seminars.
 |
These seminars are offered to students to better prepare them for work or expand their marketability. With the proper equipment and training, these students would be able to complete the Business and Computer Technology Program. Students requiring assistive technology to access computers will take the necessary seminar for that adaptive change to assistive equipment prior to beginning classes. Some assistive technology training requires knowledge of the keyboard prior to taking the seminar. |
Students not having a GED or high school diploma may take the Test of Adult Basic Education – reading, spelling and comprehension. The minimum academic requirement for participants is grade level eight.
The Course length varies according to the specific assistive access technology needed. Training generally ranges from 3 to 30 hours of individual instruction; however, additional hours may be required for individuals with specific needs. The following are examples of the computer access and assistive technologies for which a person can be trained.
The cost of this training is $30 per hour. |
